I downloaded The Widow and the Rockstar as a free ebook from Amazon. I really enjoyed the storyline of this bopk. The PoV (point of view) changes were sometimes disorienting-- changing from first person (Will or Viv) and third person, without clear chapter indicators of current narrator-- it took me out of the reading when I realized I was experiencing a new perspective. Regardless of this odd PoV shifts, the characters were wonderful, and the plot, while simple, was well done. I think the reason this book resonates with me is the open communication between the characters, in spite of their insecurities. I enjoyed the story, overall.Product details

JTL has written of a widow who started a fund for widows to find her bank account has been embezzled. The lady Doré's everything in her power to get the money back. She meets a rock star and he gets in her way as she is trying to recoup her funds. This is an excellent read for the genre..... ER
I was very impressed with the quality of the writing in this debut novel. The characters were very vividly created, the plot had a solid and believable progression to it. The dialogue was funny and realistic. My only complaint was the ending. It was too abrupt for me.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but found myself caught up in the storyline and the characters. It was a refreshing look at the growth of an adult who still has lots of growing up to do. I plan to read further books in the series.
The relationship between the two friends in this book was absolutely wonderful. And the love story is stellar. I’m moving on to book number 2 now.
This book started out really well. But about a third of the way through it started to get bogged down with the female protagonist being so indecisive and immature that I found it hard to finish. I also was not satisfied with the way the book ended. Would have loved more about the Two main characters. I would read more from this author, but hopefully with a more mature acting h and more of the romance and less of the side stories.
This has a lot going on when the heroine finds out that money for her charity was taken by someone she texted. She ends up in California with her BF. While there her book gets picked up for a movie deal. She meets a rock star and starts to fall for him. But life is not done with her. There is so many ups and downs. I hope there is another book. This one felt like it was not completed.
I really did like this book right up to the last 76 percent. Then it went way over the top. ( spoiler alert)when her mother died she was too over the top. I have lost both of my parents so I do know loss. I also know everyone must grieve in there own way. But her reaction was so over the top it was disgusting. Maybe I sound cold, but I don't mean to. I have seen alot of people lose someone , including parents who have lost their child, and never have I seen someone act or behave like that. I finally gave up reading and read the last page.
