I got the Bridemaid Lotto free from the Prime Lender's Library on my Kindle and after I couldn't get the 2nd book for free through there I went ahead and purchased the trilogy for a trip I went on. The story line is a cute romantic comedy and I emphasize on comedy. The author had me literally Laughing Out Loud on multiple occasions. Even thinking of it now I wish there was an extension of the McMaster character in another book. It is, however, a very easy read similar to Nicholas Sparks.

I was able to download the free copy of the first book in this series - loved it! We're going on vacation and I'd like some light reading so I purchased the trilogy (tho I noticed that my free copy disappeared from my Fire. . . hhmm??) and am looking forward to getting the whole story. Rachel Astor's writing style is witty and easy to read. . . . just what you need for laying on the beach in Florida in March!!
I can TOTALLY relate to Josie. Thank GAWD I didn't have all of the "disasters" she had growing up-or as an adult. Nonetheless, I can relate to a lot of the things that happen to her. Josie's mother enters her into a bridesmaid contest without her knowledge (some may find the plot a little farfetched, but heck-ANYTHING can happen this day and age). Guess what? Josie WINS! She has been chosen to be a bridesmaid for a celebrity wedding, and . . . well . . . just buy the books and see what happens!

Anyone who has grown up under awkward circumstances can appreciate Josie. Rachel Astor has created a wonderful character, and I hope the Disaster trilogy gets extended. PLEASE!
This is a wonderful series by an even better writer! I downloaded the first book on its own when it was free on and was hooked. These books are the ultimate chick-lit books great for a fun read. The main chracters were all likeable and you wanted the best for them. The main story line, a famous actor (who also happens to be incredibly gorgeous) takes kltuzy Josie out on a date and disater ensues. This is more or less every girls dream, for a hunky, rich actor to fall in love with them and live happily ever after, or so Josie hopes. The stories kept me hooked throughout all 3 and I could not put them down. I blew through all 3 in a couple of days. I would absolutely recommend this trilogy to anyone who loves some good chick-lit. Great story and great writing!
I started with the first book The Bridesmaid Lotto. It was such a great book. Then I learned this was a triology. So excited when I got to keep reading.

Mattie should be played by Jai Rodriguez. I just kept picturing him everytime I read Mattie's parts. If anyone could pull this role off, it would be him.

This story had me laughing, crying, smiling throughout. It was an easy read and I could barely put my book down. Koodles to Rachel Astor for such a wonderful and charming book! I highly recommend it to anyone who thinks the rest of the world is perfect, except for you. It would be a great inspirational book for young adults who think that the littlest things will cloud their days forever. Great book!
I could not put the books down! Josie is great; spunky, funny and yes... a DISASTER ;-) I literally read all 3 books in 3 days. A great story, and while I don't mind a little detail in the love making portions, the fact that this is a rather pg series did not do it any harm at all in my mind. Yeah, there are some editing mistakes in the book, but I was so into the story line that it barely gave me any pause at all. I seriously recommend this series to anyone who loves quirky and very funny leading ladies and romantic stories withot the sappy/campy crap. 21st century story for 21st century ladies -)
This series is hilarious, starting with the first book, where Josie gets caught up in a celebrity wedding through a bridesmaid lotto that she didn't even enter. She gets to meet Jake Hall, one of the grooms and a movie star, and they fall in love. In the second book, things get complicated, and the relationship is strained. By the third book, Josie isn't sure if she will even get her happily ever after.

I picked up the first book, Bridesmaids Lotto for free. I don't normally read contemporary romances (preferring historical and paranormal), but this series was so funny and well written that I had to purchase the set after the first hooked me in.
Talk about a fun and exciting story about a couple that you don't always find. Josie is the most fun and understandable female lead I have read in a long time. She pulls you in with her simple outlook on life and keeps you hook reviling all her most embarrassing moments that she writes down to keep herself grounded. Jake is very sweet and approachable and the perfect leading man for Josie. Loved every chapter of this series .. Want to know more about her friends though.
